Grok Bot 101: The Free Course · Lesson 6 of 10

Build a bot that finds leads and drafts the first email for you to approve

How do you use Grok Bot to find leads and write first emails without it sending anything on its own?

Tell the bot exactly who you're looking for, have it build a short list that shows where each detail came from, and ask it to draft one personal first email for each lead. Then it stops and waits. You read every draft, change what you want, and send the ones you like yourself.

What you'll build

An Outreach Helper that finds 10 possible customers, shows the source for every contact, drafts a short personal first email for each one, and keeps a follow-up list. It never sends anything on its own.

About 25 minutes the first time, then about 10 minutes a batch.

Why this is worth your time

The problem

Finding the right people and writing a good first line takes most of the time in outreach. So it gets put off, or it turns into copy-paste emails nobody answers.

What a Grok Bot can do now

A marketer connected his bot to his lead tracker, and it found a lead that had gone quiet and wrote the email to win them back. A solo founder has his bot find event organizers who could use his software and draft his daily posts. A dad in Houston has his bot clean his lead lists so his cold emails stay under a 2% bounce rate.

Why this works now

The bot does the busy part in minutes: looking up businesses, finding the public contact page and writing a first draft. You keep the part that matters, which is deciding who to contact and what you say. One user's lesson: bot emails are still cold emails, and a warm introduction usually works better, so use both.

Questions people ask

Will the bot send emails for me?

Not on its own. Its first rule is that it never sends an email, message, connection request or form by itself. If your email is connected, Grok Bot shows you each email as a draft, and nothing goes out until you press Send. You can also copy the drafts and send them yourself.

Is cold email legal?

In many places, yes, if you follow the rules. In the US, the CAN-SPAM Act asks for an honest subject line, your real mailing address and an easy way to opt out, and you have to honor opt-outs. Rules in places like the EU, the UK and Canada are stricter. If you're not sure, check your country's rules before you send.

Where does it find contact details?

In this lesson, only on each business's own website, and it gives you the page link for each one. It is told never to guess an email address.

How many emails should I send a day?

Start small, around 10 a day, and send them yourself. Sending a lot of cold email at once can get your email account flagged as spam.
