What they did

He needed a Prague to Budapest train on Dec 23 for 2 adults and 2 kids. On Oct 23 his Grok Bot booked seats on ÖBB for €393.60 on a fare with free cancellation until Dec 22. Then it checked ÖBB, MÁV, Czech Railways (ČD) and RegioJet every morning at 9am. Most days it found nothing (MÁV showed €70 fares that couldn't actually be booked). On Oct 31, ČD opened December sales with the same 09:36 train for 2,279 CZK, about €94, and the bot alerted him. He booked ČD and is cancelling the ÖBB tickets for free.

How it went

X post by @LeeMatt17631 (Oct 31, 2026 UTC): RJ 277 Prague to Budapest, Dec 23; ÖBB €393.60 refundable fare booked Oct 23; daily 9am checks of ÖBB, MÁV, ČD and RegioJet; ČD 2,279 CZK (~€94) found Oct 31, 76% cheaper, about €300 saved. Before you cancel the first booking, confirm the new tickets are issued and the seats match. Some operators show fares that can't actually be booked

Prompt

Cleaned version rewritten from the source — not a direct quote.

I need [number] tickets on the [train/route] from [city] to [city] on [date]. First, book the cheapest fare that has free cancellation and tell me the cancellation deadline. Then every morning at [time], check [list of rail operators' sites] for the same train or the same departure time and look for a cheaper fare I can actually book (ignore prices that can't be bought). If you find one, message me with the price, the operator and the link. Don't book or cancel anything without my OK, and remind me to cancel the first booking before the free-cancellation deadline.

Ask your bot for a security review of an email that passed every check

An email from [email protected] landed in a Tesla engineer's inbox. It passed SPF, DKIM and DMARC (the checks that confirm who sent an email) and showed the blue check, but something felt off, so he asked his Grok Bot to do a security review. It found a hidden phishing link, explained why every safety check had passed, and wrote a report to xAI with a proposed fix. He then had it add a security routine that checks his email for anything phishy going forward.
