What they did

A UGC creator uploaded a 9-minute raw footage file and a reference script to plain Claude Code on an older iMac with no video editor or computer control. With natural-language prompts it nailed the edit on the first try. He saved it as a skill, then had it cut the dead space around clips, add captions and a title, and normalize and clean up the audio. It used about 2% of his weekly usage on a $20 plan. Next he's wiring Grok Bot to trigger the skill when footage lands in Google Drive.

How it went

X post by the creator (Oct 26, 2026 UTC): Claude Code (Opus 5.5, $20 plan) on an older iMac, no plugins or editing app; 9-min raw footage plus reference script; first edit nailed; saved as a skill; trimmed dead space, captions, title, audio normalize and noise cleanup; about 2% of weekly usage. Grok Bot Drive automation is planned, not done yet

Prompt

Cleaned version rewritten from the source — not a direct quote.

Here is a raw talking-head video file: [path] and the script I was reading from: [path]. Using command-line tools only (for example ffmpeg), cut out the dead space and false starts before and after each take so it follows the script, add burned-in captions and a title card that says [title], and normalize the audio and reduce background noise. Save the result as [output path] and keep the original untouched. When it works, save the whole process as a reusable skill I can run on the next file.

Recommended

Try it in Grok Bot

  3. Connect the listed tools (Google Drive) as connectors when Grok Bot asks.
  4. If the task repeats, ask: "Make this a daily routine."

Alternatives: the same prompt works in Claude Code, Claude, ChatGPT Agent, OpenClaw.
